Beyond a penetration test
A penetration test finds as many weaknesses as possible in a defined scope. A red team engagement asks a different question: could a realistic attacker reach a business objective without being detected, and would your team respond in time? It tests people, processes and detections together.
Intelligence-led scenarios
Scenarios are built from what our intelligence team sees targeting organisations like yours: the phishing pretexts, initial access techniques and post-exploitation tooling currently in use. Typical objectives include reaching finance systems, a sensitive data store or a privileged cloud role.
How an engagement runs
- Planning: we agree objectives, scope, out-of-bounds systems and a small "white team" on your side who know the test is happening.
- Execution: initial access, persistence, privilege escalation and movement toward the objective, at a pace that reflects real attackers.
- Reporting: a timeline of every action, what was detected and when, and what was missed.
- Debrief: we replay the attack with your defenders so each gap becomes a concrete detection or control.
Safety and control
Rules of engagement are signed before any activity. Your white team can pause or stop the test at any time, we avoid actions that could disrupt production, and all activity is logged so it can be told apart from a real incident.
Outcomes
You learn whether your people, processes and detections would catch a determined, realistic adversary, and exactly where they would not. Every technique is mapped to MITRE ATT&CK.
Is it the right time?
Red teaming gives most value once the basics are in place: regular penetration testing, EDR deployed, and a SOC or MDR provider watching alerts. If you are not there yet, start with VAPT or a Defender XDR deployment.
